HTC Explorer Price, Review, Features, Android - India

HTC has recently added to its cheapest Android bay the HTC Explorer. Explorer is one of the cheapest Android smartphone in the HTC bay.

HTC Explorer has a 3.2-inch HVGA (480 x 320 resolution) capacitive touch display. It is powered by 600MHz processor, 3MP camera without LED flash and 512MB RAM, 90MB of expandable memory. Its hardware is somewhat same as found in HTC Wildfire S.

"HTC Explorer is an easy-to-use smartphone that puts the customer in control, providing quick access to their most important content and information,"  HTC Corporation President (Global Sales and Marketing) Jason Mackenzie said on the release.

Explorer is built on HTC Sense technology platform, which provides users sharp graphics, vibrant animations and a variety of widgets. HTC Sense features smart dail, Group messages, smart incoming calls and other impressive experince.


Capacitive touchscreen is the face of HTC Explorer along with four touch buttons below it. You will find the  volume rocker buttons on the right side. The lock, unlock and the power button is situated on the top of the handset along with the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

On the left is the data sinking/battery charging micro USB port along. The 3 mega pixel camera is situated at the back of the smartphone which has a plastic body with rubber texture along with and metallic plate. The Explorer also supports sensors like accelerometer for auto rotate and proximity sensor.

HTC Explorer also features a customizable lock screen that functions as a real-time window to the customer's most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply waking up the display. The lock screen also enables quick access to the camera for capturing those important moments. There's also a Smart Dialer that displays a one-touch menu for quick, easy dialing of contacts. It also supports Adobe Flash.

It weighs about 108 gms with battery. Its Lithium-ion battery is capacity of 1230 mAh.

HTC Explorer is available at a price tag of Rs.10800/-

Its available in Active Black, Metallic Black and Metallic Navy colors.

However HTC has given options for users to customize HTC Explorer with a range of optional back covers including Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple.

HTC has also partnered with telecom services provider Vodafone to offer subscribers data plans and the offer is valid up to December 31.

Users would get 200 MB data usage for Rs100, 1GB for Rs375 and 2GB for Rs650.
